What is a microfiber cloth? Many people use them to clean around the house. My mom first turned me onto them when she heard that they were great for dusting. (One of my most-reviled chores as a kid.) But do they scrub your face clean? I bought a pack of Polyte Premium Microfiber Facial Cleansing Cloths a few months ago, and after testing them out fairly regularly, I’m confident that the answer is yes.

Do you shower at night or in the morning? Or both? I’ve always been a member of the nighttime shower camp, but even if I hadn’t already been one before, I think moving to New York City would have convinced me to come over to the dark side. After walking through the gritty streets of the city, you just want to wash away all that grime after you come home.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Cleansing Wipes review

The American in me is primed to feel like anything instantly gets glammed up once you slap a French name on it. “Escargot” sounds way more appealing than “snails,” and “merci” seems more refined than “thanks.” So it should probably come as no surprise that I always think of La Roche-Posay as a premium brand, even though it’s widely available in drugstores, and not terribly expensive.
In the past, I’ve dabbled in La Roche-Posay’s “Effaclar” line of products, designed for oily, acne-prone skin.

It’s the first day of 2019! I thought it would be fitting to review something that’s meant to wash away makeup, sunscreen, and impurities—including the kind that come from boarding a long flight back home after visiting your family for the holidays. Today I’m focusing on Innisfree Refreshing Cleansing Wipes with Apple Seed. I picked up this 15-pack on a whim when I wandered into Innisfree’s new-ish Midtown East location in NYC.

Which brand makes the best makeup remover wipes for water-resistant physical sunscreen?

I love Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen—but recently came to the disappointing realization that double cleansing doesn’t effectively remove it from my face at the end of the day. Specifically, double cleansing with Kose cleansing oil and Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser doesn’t do the trick. How could I tell? If I swiped my (post-double-cleansed) face with a Stridex pad, it came away tinted. Every. Single. Time. And if I lightly scratched the surface of my face, I could see some of the sunscreen caked under my fingernail (gross).
