Vaseline is one of the products that was always in my family’s medicine cabinet growing up. It’s extremely oily, so it leaves residue on your skin, on your clothes, and basically on anything that you touch—but I haven’t found anything that’s more effective at sealing in moisture and smoothing dry, flaky skin, without aggravating my eczema. This winter, I owe a big thank you to Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Mini for hydrating my lips.
My mom enjoys Korean dramas, Sudoku puzzles, and extracting blackheads. That’s right, those annoying little black dots that appear when your pores get clogged but stay open. When I was a teenager, I had acne on my back (“bacne”), so my mom used to beg me to let her squeeze out my blackheads. She was excited for me when I got into college, she was happy when I made her favorite scones, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen her more delighted than when I grudgingly agreed…
Who doesn’t love a good spot treatment? I’ve tried many kinds over the years—ones that contain salicylic acid, others that use benzoyl peroxide, ones that are clear gels, others that are thick pastes—but I like the ones that contain sulfur the most (even though they smell the worst). Alba Botanica Fast Fix for a Pimple spot treatment is one such spot treatment, and it’s also tinted. Let’s take a closer look at the ingredients.
