Whole Foods 365 Glycerin Soap review: A fragrance-free, dye-free soap that gets the job done

This bar soap provides all the basics without any bells or whistles. Gets the job done without dyes, fragrances, or other irritants.

There’s something so soothing about browsing through the soap selection at Whole Foods. But even at a place like Whole Foods, you’ll find plenty of soaps that seem harmless (because they’re made with “natural extracts” rather than synthetic fragrances), but are not necessarily the best choice for those of us with sensitive skin. Nature, aka the inventor of poison ivy, can produce ingredients that are just as irritating as any manmade concoction. Essential oils are often too irritating for sensitive skin to tolerate, even though they smell oh-so-good. I’m always on the lookout for basic, bare bones soaps like Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar. Today I’m reviewing an even more basic soap: Whole Foods 365 Glycerin Soap, an even more basic soap that’s a good option for anyone looking for a fragrance-free, dye-free soap.

Whole Foods 365 Glycerin Soap Fragrance-Free review

Whole Foods 365 Glycerin Soap works as advertised: It cleans your skin without drying it out. I did notice that it was a bit more drying than my normal go-to soap (Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar). It also didn’t seem to foam up quite as much, but I didn’t think that was a big deal. It didn’t really smell like anything. I noticed that I went through it more quickly than Dove, even though they are about the same size. This bar is almost transparent and has a “365” etched on top.

I couldn’t find this exact fragrance-free version online, but Whole Foods' 365 Everyday brand does sell the grapefruit version on Amazon. Note that that one lists “fragrance (natural)” as an ingredient, as well as some other add-ins like grapefruit extract and turmeric root powder (maybe for color?).

If you want to find this exact bar of soap, look for it on the shelves of your local Whole Foods store. Amazon also sells some other fragrance-free glycerin soaps like this Clearly Natural Essentials Unscented Glycerin Soap, which I haven’t tried, but looks pretty similar to this Whole Foods soap.
